The Register of Deeds office is located on 1st floor of the Miner County Courthouse.  Office hours are Monday-Friday 
8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (closed during noon hour) 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
 
Welcome to the Miner County Register of Deeds Office.  This office has a wealth of information.  We are the primary record-keeper for the county and an excellent source for genealogy information, vital statistics and land title records.
 
Primary Functions of the Register of Deed's office:
  • Recording of real estate documents-Plats, deeds, mortgages, satisfactions, assignments and miscellaneous recordings.
  • Issue copies of Birth, Death, and Marriage records. (Certified copies are $15.00 each) Vital Records Forms are available at the SD Department of Health in Pierre, SD http://doh.sd.gov/VitalRecords/order.aspx  Our birth and death records start at 1905.  Marriage records start at 1897.
  • Issue marriage licenses-Cost is $40.00 and is valid for 20 days
  • Lien Filings-County, State, Federal & Mechanic's liens
  • Military  Discharge Filings
