April 29, 2013
The Miner County Board of Commissioners met in special session April 29, 2013,in the Miner County Courthouse. Members present: Roger Wentland, Don Bowman, Pat Maroney and Voni Durant. Absent: none. Chairman Wentland called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion by Maroney, seconded by Bowman and carried to approve the agenda.
Motion by Durant, seconded by Maroney and carried to appoint Miner County Auditor Susan Connor as the 5th voting member of the commission to fill the vacancy on the board of commissioners.
Garrett Gassman and Alex Protsch were present for interviews to fill the open seat on the commission. The candidates answered a variety of questions from the commission. There were no other persons present for the public interview process.
Motion by Maroney, seconded by Durant and carried to enter into executive session (9:35). SDCL 1-25-2 (1). Returned to regular session 9:42.
The commission thanked both candidates for their interest in serving on the commission. Motion was made by Maroney and seconded by Durant to appoint Alex Protsch to serve until January of 2015 on the Miner County Board of Commissioners. Motion was approved unanimously.
Protsch took his oath of office.
