The Miner County Board of Commissioners met in regular session November 21, 2017 in the Miner County Courthouse.  Members present:  Roger Wentland, Tom Reisch, Garrett Gassman, Voni Durant and Alex Protsch.  Absent:  none. Chairman Wentland called the meeting to order.  Others in attendance included:  Troy & Dawn Hamilton, Carla Poulson of the Miner County Pioneer and Director of Equalization Tami Severson.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.  Motion by Durant, seconded by Gassman and carried to approve the agenda.

 

The minutes of the November 7th meeting were approved.

 

The board acknowledge receipt of the following correspondence:  Tax Exempt Trust Lands letter of support request from Bennett County Commissioners.

It was moved by Gassman, seconded by Durant and carried to declare the 2006 Ford Ambulance & the 2004 Chevy Blazer as surplus as they are no longer necessary, useful or suitable for the purpose for which they were acquired.

 

It was moved by Gassman, seconded by Protsch and carried to place the 2004 Chevy Blazer on a future public auction and to advertise the 2006 Ford Ambulance for sale through seal bids.

 

Redstone Township officers Troy & Dawn Hamilton made a request for the county to assist with the replacement of 2 culverts located between sections 4 and 9.  Mr. Hamilton informed the commission that Redstone Twp. would propose the township paying 1/3 of the costs associated with the project.  Highway Superintendent Ron Krempges gave an estimate of over $57,000 for the project.  After discussion the board decided to place this item on the next agenda so that wording of a motion could be drafted and reviewed before adoption.

 

It was moved by Durant, seconded by Gassman and carried to remove from the table the sealed bid for the 2005 Cat motor grader.  It was moved by Reisch, seconded by Protsch and carried to accept the bid ($68,000) from Paul Jennings Construction for the 2005 Cat motor grader. 

 

Krempges reviewed other highway matters including future equipment purchases included in the 2018 budget.

 

The updated Miner County Personnel Policy with its revisions was considered for adoption.  It was moved by Gassman, seconded by Durant and carried to approve the personnel policy with revisions to be implemented on January 1, 2018.  It was also set by the board beginning January 1, 2018 all monthly vacation and sick leave will be awarded the last day of each month.
