The Miner County Board of Commissioners met in regular session June 19, 2018 in the Miner County Courthouse.  Members present:  Roger Wentland, Garrett Gassman, Voni Durant, Tom Reisch and Alex Protsch.  Absent:  none.  Chairman Wentland called the meeting to order.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.  Motion by Durant, seconded by Protsch and carried to approve the agenda as amended.

 

The following correspondence was received:  First District of Local Govts-2019 County Highway & Bridge Improvement Plan; Miner County Sheriff & Dispatch Service May report; Miner County Conservation District & NRCS April reports.

 

The minutes of the June 7th meeting were approved.  No one appeared for Public Comment.

It was moved by Protsch and seconded by Gassman to adopt the following resolution.

 

RESOLUTION 18-13

 

WHEREAS, insufficient appropriation was made in the 2018 budget for the following department to discharge just obligation of said appropriation; and

 

WHEREAS, SDCL 7-21-32.2 provides that transfers may be made by resolution of the board from the contingency appropriation established pursuant to SDCL 7-21-6.1 to other appropriations;

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the appropriation be transferred from contingency to the following department:  Juvenile Detention $600.  Voting aye:  Protsch, Reisch, Durant, Gassman and Wentland.  Voting nay:  none.  Resolution approved this 19th day of June 2018.

Discrepancies with the zoning ordinance were reviewed.  The current public copy has been updated to mirror the adopted ordinance.

 

The board was informed that Ron Anderson has withdrawn his bid for the 2006 Ford ambulance.  Therefore, the board will advertise the ambulance for public auction to be held on August 7th.  No phone bids will be accepted and payment will be due immediately after the auction.

 

Highway Superintendent Ron Krempges reported that he has hired Adam Mentele as a highway worker; reviewed equipment repairs; and other highway matters.

 

The board considered the request of Terry Carlson to remove a section of cement located in the parking area south of the courthouse. No action was taken as the board believes this would be a city matter as it is located on the street.

 

The meeting adjourned until July 3rd.  Dated this 19th day of June 2018.
